Shipping Policy

At Lex & The Oven, every single batch of cookies is hand-scooped, freshly baked to order, and heat-sealed immediately to lock in that warm, fresh-out-of-the-oven flavor.

Because we bake in small, artisanal batches to guarantee freshness, we operate on a structured twice-weekly shipping schedule. Please review our shipping guidelines below before placing your order.

1. Delivery Destinations (California Only)

Under California Cottage Food Law (AB 1144), we legally ship exclusively within the state of California.

• We ship to all residences, businesses, and addresses within California via USPS Priority Mail or UPS Ground.

• We cannot ship out-of-state, internationally, or to P.O. Boxes / APO addresses.

2. Our Twice-Weekly Baking & Shipping Schedule

We ship twice a week—every Monday and Friday—to ensure your cookies spend minimal time in transit and never sit in a postal warehouse over the weekend.

Orders placed after the cutoff time will automatically roll into the following ship date cycle.

3. Shipping Rates & Delivery Times

• Standard Flat-Rate Shipping: Calculated at checkout (typically $8–$12 flat rate across California).

• Transit Time: Most California deliveries arrive within 1 to 2 business days after leaving our kitchen.

• Tracking: You will receive an automated shipping confirmation email with a USPS/UPS tracking number as soon as your shipping label is printed.

4. Freshness, Reheating & Handling

• Packaging: Every cookie is individually heat-sealed in food-safe packaging to lock in moisture during transit.

• Upon Arrival: Our cookies contain no artificial preservatives. For optimal texture and gooeyness, microwave your cookie for 10–12 seconds right before enjoying!

• Storage: Enjoy within 7 days of arrival at room temperature, or freeze in an airtight container for up to 3 months.

5. Address Accuracy & Carrier Delays

• Please double-check your shipping address during checkout! We are not responsible for packages delayed, returned, or delivered incorrectly due to an invalid or incomplete shipping address.

• While we guarantee we will ship your order on your chosen Monday or Friday, we cannot be held responsible for carrier delays caused by extreme weather, holiday postal surges, or regional shipping disruptions once the package is handed over to USPS/UPS.

6. Perishable Goods Return Policy

Due to the perishable nature of our freshly baked goods, all sales are final. We do not accept returns or exchanges.

Damaged Packages: If your order arrives significantly damaged during transit, please take a photo of the damaged box/cookies within 24 hours of delivery and email us at lexandtheoven@gmail.com with your order number so we can make it right!
